I feel like a dummy for not knowing the answer to this, but it has never come up before!
I purchased a teapot off E-bay for my MIL's birthday next week. Shipping insurance was mandated by the seller. When it arrived, it was broken. I glued it back together and the break is still noticeable, although only if you are looking for it. I decided to still give it for a gift as my MIL would still appreciate it.
However, I got to thinking about the insurance. Does the fact that insurance was purchased mean that I could get reimbursed for the damage? What about the fact that I alreday glued it back together - is it too late? What is the process? The teapot cost $14.00 with $6.25 shipping/insurance and insurance cost $1.30 (I think that's $0-50 worth of coverage?). I'm just trying to figure out if this is worth pursuing - I did contact the seller and they told me that they will mail me the receipt if I need it.
Thanks for any advice!
