I've been researching and slowly implementing this new lifestyle: The idea is that most of the calories you burn, you do so just by being alive—about 75-85% of it. It's very hard for aerobic exercise to impact weight loss and the benefits seem to be oversold, consider how long you run on a treadmill and see how many calories you burn.
So my method . . . resistance training (weight training) to build muscle. Eat more protein as protein takes more energy to metabolize. Ditch processed foods with little nutritional value, eat whole, nutrient dense foods. Eat breakfast. Eat every two to three hours so your body doesn't feel hungry. Prepare foods ahead of time so you're not at the mercy of what's convenient, usually fast food. Go to bed early.
