  • Type at home! Make $$$ Scam or No

I just received an email offering details to make $$ at home typing. Anyone here doing this type of work. Any reputable companies out there?

By the way, they are asking for $49.00 to get started.

IMO, anything that askes you to pay money to get started seems a bit 'off'.

Send no money! It sounds like a scam. Since when do you pay people for your labor!

I will show you how to do it for free!

You type up ads and send them out in spam emails and ask for $49 for information on how to make money doing "Type at Home" jobs.

Its a scam, just like stuffing envelopes.

No, it's not a scam! We here at BA Type Enterprises take pride in doing er reputable *cough* business. It's just that these fees are necessary for start up costs and continual overheads for um word count....

In fact, to show you how willing we are in lending a hand, we're willing to split the cost! Yes, split the cost with you, so you'll only have to "invest" $19.99 per month with us! What do you say? Hello?

Any place that charges a fee is a scam. You are better off without this one.

I knew someone who sent off for this years ago. They got a letter telling them to put ads in papers offering the same deal so they could collect a lot of checks.

It sounded like a scam to me, but I wanted to run it by you guys. If there were legitimate type at home companies I knew someone here would know it.

                        Thanks

Check with www.ClarkHoward.com He has callers looking for work at home type jobs all the time and has links for different legitimate sites...at least he has not had complaints about them. He advises not to pay up front fees, so I would think all sites he advocates are legit.

Perhaps Jeffrey could get a shout out from Clark on his radio show for SavingAdvice.com!!!!

Just a quick note, some legitamate work-at-home companies do charge small fees to cover things like background checks and have small anual fees to cover the use of their software. A lot of work from home travel agents pay these fees to their host agencies (as well as a portion of their commision from sales). Just because there is a fee doesn't mean it's a scam, it's just one of many factors to look for.
