  • How much is a lot of money?

Where is the point when money becomes "a lot of money" when you are carrying it around in your purse/wallet? I think that carrying around $100 in cash is a lot of money, but I have a friend that thinks you don't reach that point until you have $500 or more. What do other people think?

I think on this site you will find the numbers lower, since $100 or 500 goes to the savings or debt and doesn't 'hang out' in a pocketbook.

I think is depends what your plans are for the day. If it is just a normal everyday day for me, $50 would be alot, but if I were going out someplace special, then $50 may not be alot at all. It would change for me depending on what my plans were for that day.

I find that once I take out 100 dollars its gone in less than a week... therefore I dont think that is alot of money to be carrying. 500 on the other hand can last you 2 or more weeks (I use debit alot as well) therefore unecessary to have and therefore too much to carry with you.

If I have over 100.00 cash on me, I must be making a bank run. Cash runs through my fingers like running water so the less I have the better.

I don't usually carry cash, so even $10 would be a lot for me.
