We do pur own most of the time. Two years we paid (way too much) because there were too many little changes that applied. Never again!

Too much for me to handle cause I have to do a complicated tax returns with combined husband and myself - his is a regular W2 and I'm on Commissions - then I have deductions and rebates and schedules C's and ahhhhh...it's just easier to get someone else to do them so in the end, I don't pay out of pocket... it's worth the money you give to a certified professional.
But if you have a simple w2 - cut and dry, it's easy to do them yourself...

My brother works for the IRS. He's been there over 20 years and goes all over the country taking classes or giving them to other IRS personal. So not only does he do my taxes for free, but he takes it in with him and puts it on the top of the pile at the a refund desk. I get my refunds faster then people who file online. I love my brother for many reasons, this is just an additional perk, especially since I'm Math phobic.
