  • Its rubbing off..

My kids get a small allowance each day for extras such as lollies, toys etc. They have jobs that must be done to get this money. I do not buy these items apart from birthdays or christmases. Anyway the other day we were at the shops. My son had saved for 2 months to buy a "cube world" and finally had enough. A bonus was that it was 20% off so he saved $10.

My daughter had $1 to spend. She choose a 180g of generic brand "Banana" lollies instead of a name brand 25g chocolate bar that would have been eaten in a matter of minutes. Both were $1.
At the checkout she told the cashier that she was buying the bananas because they were better value for money! Four days later she still has half of the lollies left and has shared them willingly with others. I am very proud that she has learnt this at 7.
