But I have to ask anyway.

Do you send odd numbers as payment, or only nice round numbers. The only reason I ask is because we are trying to send every penny to the credit card company.

Well, I budgeted $200 for payment (outside of DH's other job). Minimum payment for card #2 was 96.41. That leaves 103.59 for credit card #1. I've never sent such an odd number before. I usually round it down to a nice even $100. Is that me being anal? Should I send that extra $3.59?

Believe it or not, I understand where you're coming from. However, my practice, and my advice to you is, get over it. Send 'em every penny you can. Or, alternatively, round up to make a round number.

I would round up..but not down.

I know it irked me todo that, I like nice round numbers! but if all I could afford was the odd number I tried to do it.

sometimes I would send an even 100 (or whatever) plus the minimum, odd but since they piked the number it didn't bother me any more than the electric bill being an odd number.

I'm proud to say that I click the little option that sends them every penny that I owe.

I just sent $129.30 to the card that I owe $479.30, so now I know I owe exactly $350.00. I always thought that was strange, but I like to know exactly how much I owe and it's easier to remember a nice round number.

Thanks for responses. The compulsive side of me wants to round way up! If I owe 103.59, then I want to round up to $150! But that is how we are unable to make ends meet at the end of each pay. I think I will try to send exactly the amount that I am supposed to. Otherwise, those extra pennies will get lost in my checking account.

              Fantastic!

What do you do when your statement balance is $150, but your current balance is $200 (meaning you charged $50 since the last statement, but you haven't been billed yet for the extra $50 and so it's not due by the current due date)? I pay the statement balance -- they're not getting any more $ out of me until it's due!

Hate to be a bearer of bad news but that is not exactly the case. If you are carrying a balance on a revolving credit account, then after your statement drops and you pay a portion of the total balance as payment, interest accrues/has accrued on the account.

If you simply mean, in general terms, that you are aware of the level of your balance in round figures, then yeah, I understand that.

It then becomes a choice between which compulsion to follow. The desire to send even amounts as payments, or the desire to make the balance even after payment. LOL

I just send as much as I can. I'm digging out of debt. Congrats and kudos to those who pay the balance each month. That is really the only wise course of action. More power to ya!

If you don't like the odd amounts, I would just round up to the next dollar. i would send in $104.

I never had a problem with odd numbers I just paid off my credit card for this month $240.51

Doesn't bother me a bit that it is odd, and it shouldn't bother the credit card company as long as they get their money.

Roupey, if I COULD pay off the cc, I certainly would. But I don't have $23,000 in my back pocket. Just doing what I can.
