Lately the thermostat has been completely turned off and I've been taking cold showers as well. Haha. Nothing like building character and saving money at the same time.

Now lets see if I can keep the A/C off in the Texas summer...

Cold showers also have skincare benefits.

Personally I few AC as one of those things that once it becomes apart of your life it is really difficult to let it go. Somehow I survived most of my childhood without AC, but once my parents got it I have never lived anywhere without it.

The reason I clicked on this thread tonight was because I cancelled Hulu. Amazon doesn't have some of the shows I like, but it is the better bargain and I don't want to keep paying for two similar services.

I cut the cord this week on cable. My husband and I were spending $120 a month just on cable. We switched to Playstation Vue plus HBO for $60. That's a $720 savings yearly.

Right now for us restoring a rural house is a huge money drain. But it's also a good plan for our 'golden' years, since we can retire there and still earn a buck (both businesses are pretty flexible, mine especially, as a web designer). With 2 city apartments we'd rent, retirement should be pretty simple to afford.

              Ways to Save More Money

Some fellow financial planners and I provided tips in an article about ways to save money. Google "15 Ways to Save More Money Without Drastically Changing Your Lifestyle" to read it.

I bet you'll find something in there that will help you save more. One of my favorite ways to save is by using apps like RetailMeNot to get discounts on in-store and online purchases. Hope this helps!
