I've been researching laptops for awhile now. I can't decide. I'm in no rush so I like making an informed decision.
My needs:
PC (for the software I run is only PC compatible)
FAST (NON-NEGOTIABLE - Time is money)
My wants:
Able to do 4k when connected to a 4k monitor
Long battery life
Good screen resolution (even though most of its life it will be hooked to an external monitor/keyboard/mouse)
Here are the applications I have open most days:
Notepad
30 tabs in Chrome (I know it's a RAM hog but I need my Google ecosystem)
Skype
Word
Downloads folder
What laptop (or at least brand) should I be eyeing? Right now I have a ThinkPad t60p so I'm a bit spoiled. However, the screen is awful, the battery is shot, and it's hella slow in comparison to modern day laptops. It's from '07.
