Taking Advantage of Store Offers

Just being aware of the specific offerings/programs of various stores can really save a lot if you use them consistently.

For instance, i was just thinking about how office depot will give you a free ream of printer paper when you recycle a used up ink cartridge with them. Now i'm a light computer user at home, but last summer i bought a case of copy paper and becus i've been recycling those ink cartridges, i have yet to open it up.

Most of you are already familiar with Walgreens' great freebies offered at the start of each month on their website, along with their smaller rebates and sale items. Usually there are 4 or 5 items entirely free, minus the sales tax, after you turn in the rebate. If you don't mind getting your rebate in the form of a walgreens card, as opposed to cash, you get 10% more. i've gotten into the habit of checking their website at the start of each month.

An area gas station always includes a coupon in the value coupon pak i getin the mail that gives you a $1 of free gas with minimum 15 gallon purchase. The gas station is one of the cheaper ones around to begin with, so when i can, i stop there.

aside from all the various freebies, does anyone know of other great ways to save with different retailers?

If you use your Target Red Card to buy 8 prescriptions (and you register the card for this promo) you will earn a 10% off day.

Get a Menards Big Card (their cc) and use it to buy their FAR items. Some FAR items require a $10 minimum purchase on other non-rebateable items BUT some clever people just buy a $10 Menards GC and get around this issue. One verrry clever gal has even gone so far as to buy a $10 GC using the $10 GC she had to buy the time before! The rebate checks are to be used for future purchases at Menards so you just keep on rebating and buying with the same money. With each cc statement comes a two page set of coupons that are good for the entire month. Menards is now giving back 2% of what you buy at their stores when using their card. They really want your business!

Kohl's is also very good to its credit card holders. They frequently give 15% off and if you reach a certain level of spending you're bumped up for even more days of savings. My last mailer got me a 30% off coupon. This is good on regular, sale and clearance items. There are senior citizen days that give 15% off to seniors. There are times where you spend $50 and get a coupon for $10 to use in the next week. And here's the best deal of all: these are stackable deals! OH - Kohl's will pricematch anyone! I usually quickly browse the store to look for new item that are free with manifactureer coupon. Expecially good for toothpaste.

Does anyone know if Office Depot still does this? I asked at the one I was at today, and got a blank look--but the guy wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack, and I couldn't seem to get anyone else to weight on me...
