  • Frugal Handyman Question: Paint on the Rug

Readers here have helped me with some other odd questions, like disguising a scratch in wood floor and getting magic marker off metal.

    My latest handyman question is:

how do you get dried latex paint off a rug? It's not a deep pile, so i can't just cut off the part of the rug with the pant on it.

    Any help much appreicated!

I'm not sure about paint, but I swear by a product called Folex to get just about any stain out of rugs and carpet. Their web site is www.folexcompany.com.

the paint is dry, but i did have some success with nail polish remover and scrubbing.

i do have a sort of large OLD coffee stain on a different rug, so since you SWEAR by it, sweeps i'm gonna go out and get some this weekend. will let you know if it works. it would make my day if it does
