Disguising Deep Scratches from wood floor

Anyone have any good tips. I moved a heavy dresser across my wood floors. those magic marker pens for blending into a wood floor don't really work, as the floor has a polyuretyhane finish on it.

The floor will have to be resanded and repainted.

polyurethane is going to be difficult to cover. Sand and reseal are best. Our builder scraped our wood floor, and he replaced all the boards and redid the floor.

One thing you can do for a temporary fix - the Old English furniture liquid, not spray, either dark walnut or the light oak, will absorb into a wood scratch and alter the color so the scratch blends in. Works FABULOUS on wood cabinets, etc.

Is it a deep scratch? (does it need to be filled?)

Could you color it and then fill it in with clear nail polish?

I'll admit I'm clueless. My wood floors have always been so old that stratches just blended right in (one was pine planks and I LOVED it).

The other idea I had was to mix and melt crayons to get the right color and then pour it in the crack and seal with some kind of sealant.

OK, here's what I did. I remembered i had 3 magic markers, especially designed to blend in with wood, in 3 shades of brown, from light to dark. I hadn't thought i could use these cus the floors are polyurethaned, but the scratch was deep enough that it worked. I used the lightest color, and turns out it is darker than the floor, but at least now, while hte marker didn't disguise the scratch, it 'sort of' blends in and the scratch itself is not so objectionable looking. Looks like the scratch could've been there forever....character, as they call it.
