  • UnoTelly and Netflix save you a ton over traditional cable!

    I know that a lot of members here are in the US, but I've noticed that there are a fair few Canadian members here, and I wanted to share a recommendation I received from a friend. For a long time, I avoided signing up to Netflix, as I was a little disappointed that the Canadian content simply was not the same as the US content (easily 1/5 of the content that US viewers receive, for the same monthly fee!).

    A friend brought up the idea of using a US DNS service to get US Netflix content and more. I looked into UnoTelly and discovered that their service would not only extend Netflix, but practically any media service I used in Canada. A simple, free trial lets you discover if this service is for you (didn't even have to provide payment information of any kind!). The service provides you with a US DNS address, which you can use with all of the services you normally use (for us, that meant a couple iPads, iMacs and Apple TV). Once the updated DNS address was entered, it was like we were using Netflix from a US address. The service is cheaper than a Netflix subscription, but extends every other media subscription you might have! Just brilliant!

    I'm not marketing the service in any way, but just thought that other Canadian users would be happy to discover that they do not have to be shackled by some silly CRTC rules!

    Visit UniTelly's website for more information! Really well worth your time!

    I use a US VPN. I cannot get normal US channels at all, even many news outlets that the UAE deems "offensive." The VPN masks my connection to the US, and I get US channels, etc., on Netflix.

    I also found a European station that streams US football, so now I get to watch the Texans on the Superbowl run for free! I hope they get the playoffs and SB for free too.

      @TheVoice,

      Sounds like a wonderful idea. Can you please let me know if the service works on other devices such as a PS3. I am just asking because i hardly ever use my PC to watch TV. If it supports PS3 then definitely this is THE service i ever wanted!

      @Wino

      are you able to stream anything more than a 10 min content using VPN ? (i can't even stream SD let alone HD) I have read in many forums that VPN really is bad at streaming. Is it true ?
