I have a honda crv and my AC needs to be fixed and with new parts it would cost $700.
Can't believe it costs that much. Most of expense is the parts. We were thinking about maybe buying the parts used. Does anybody know a good place to get good used parts at a good price?
Looks like there are a ton o sites online but not sure which ones are best / cheapest.

You could call around to local junkyards and auto repair shops. I've had success finding used auto parts by doing this.

I usually order my parts from a couple different websites and install them myself. Try Autopartswarehouse...

For these types of parts I usually look to salvage yards first. They used to be called "junk yards" but beware of the prices some charge. You can buy some things new or after market for practically the same price with a little research.

I assume you are installing these yourself? I've been to a few garages with the correct parts and they wouldn't do the labor

If you have an honest mechanic that you go to and trust you can ask him for recommendations. They usually know all the local places, and have contacts there as well. If you're going to get him to install it, then perhaps he can order it for you as well.

If it's a good mechanic, he'll call around to get you the best possible price. $700 might be it, including labor. Hondas are normally cheaper to work on, since a lot of companies make aftermarket products for their vehicles. I had a Civic before and loved it for that very reason. I have a BMW now and only BMW can work on it, so whatever their fees are... I have to accept.

Sometimes you can find used/new parts on ebay.

Have you tried calling wreckers? Many do parting-out, some require you extract the part yourself. Most have computer lists of available parts within a two hour drive range.
