I've been trying to declutter my closet for the last week or so and even though I've weeded out a lot of stuff, the closet still seems too full. Part of the problem is that I hate giving away or selling clothes that I know cost me a lot of money even though I don't (or can't) wear them anymore. So my questions are a s follows
1. How do you convince yourself to get rid of clothes for pennies on the dollar for what you paid for them?
2. What is a good amount and selection of clothes to have on hand?
3. Does anyone know of a website where you can trade clothes?

.) then I got rid of the stuff that did fit but I didn't really like, I just had in case I hadn't done laundry recently, and I hang my stuff left to right, (recently washed goes on the left, puhing the old stuff over as I go) so that stuff was easy to find at the right side of the closet, never being washed or rehung. (I have dividers so my clothes are 'sorted' PJs hung in one spot, over shirts in another, pants in another, ect, so that I don't have to keep taking them off the rack to go around the divider things that came the way the shelf was hung)
