  • Picking Up Pennies

Do you pick up pennies? It seems to me that more and more people are throwing away pennies these days as I find them on a regular basis. Is a penny really so worthless to people that they think it is OK to throw them away? This concept is a bit foreign to me, so I would like to hear from anyone that does throw away their pennies why they do (and if you do, feel free to send them to me)

Yep, we pick up pennies. If you do it 100 times, you have gained a dollar and a little bit of exercise.

Yep, and I have a coin jar I keep my "found" money it. It can add up quite a bit after a while.

Yep, and everytime I do I say the little rhyme. You know, see a penny pick it up, all day long have good luck. I think that if I don't I might have bad luck! lol

I pick them up, too. I find them all the time. Nickels and dimes, too. Hardly ever see a quarter but every now and then.

I have a small collection of very nasty looking pennies. They seem to have been on the ground amassing filth and corrosion a long time.

The worth of the penny you pick up can be far more than the penny itself I'm finding...

I always pick them up. I once picked up a lost $20 and haven't had that luck in the 30 yrs. since.

Always. Every penny counts. And now so does my 3 year old.

I pick them up... I was behind a guy in an S series Mercedes the other day at a light. He placed his car in park, got out and picked up a coin out of the middle of the road next to the median. I was like, "Wow! No wonder he's driving that S series."

I had to stop DH from doing this in the middle of an intersection once...

Not only do I pick up pennies, but I think of savingadvice every time I find one! It was this site that really drove that idea into my head many years ago.

My (almost) 3-year-old son just got a piggy bank, so I don't pick them up, I point them out for HIM to pick up. He gets so excited!
