  • Milking my HOA!

    you know?

When I embarked in this path to financial freedom I thought it would all be about derpiving myself from stuff, I was afraid of how depressing this would be.

Well, It really has not been so, not even close.
And, not only i have been just fine with the necessary changes, i have been more resourceful than ever and using benefits I didn't even realized I had at my disposition, almost embarrassing.

It turned out that I have a 401k with 12k on it.

It turned out my $287 /month I spend on home owners association can be used in more than one way...

    It includes alarm system
    It includes basic cable
It takes care of the lawn both front and back
It include a pool i can take my toddler for free at anytime (and I was paying #8 for the regional park...)
And, today, it is making my me time free as well.
My favorite me time was to sit down at Panera Bread with a coffee, a sweet, my laptop and/or a book.
Well, the club house has free wi fi. I am sitting down outside. It is getting hot, so I might go inside, which is very nice and there isn't a soul there. I brought water from home. coffee and the sweet are not good for me anyway. This i very nice, free and I didn't have to give up my me-time (my son is with his dad) sorry Panera Bread....

Who knows what else I'll discover I can do for free or dirty cheap that is as enjoyable as the things I did before. cool

Good for you. I wonder how many other people are paying for services and don't even know it. I bet there are lots of folks like that.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

So good to hear! Keep up the good work. You are learning that you don't have to "deprive" yourself when you try to make the most of your money!

Nice job! I'm not part of a HOA, but I wonder how many of us could be getting more city services for the property taxes we're already paying. Heck, we'll pay them no matter what. Might as well use the services they are paying for.

Great post! Everyone should take a second how to squeeze every penny out of every dollar spent. Make your money work just as hard for you as you worked to earn it!

            I agree, great post!

Never take for granted the services you are paying for. It is good to review them every once in awhile.
