  • Time Savers

What are some of the little things you do to save time? I think my biggest time saver was setting up a specific place to place my keys a couple of years ago. before then, I used to lose them all the time misplacing them here and there. I wasted hours searching for them each week. I don't know why it took me so long to finally make key hooks in a convenient place, but I'm sure glad that I finally did it. It probably saved my sanity.

    Re: Time Savers

Do it now, I know that is odd, but the longer I put off a task the longer it seems to take.

I also discovered that the old 'a task fills the time alloted', is very true!

Declutter, less stuff between me and a task, less time to get to it.

Oh yeah and do all possible before kids are up! Man they can make a 2 minute job take hours! I also do teach them to do more tasks on their own, takes longer today, but less time in the future.

      Re: Time Savers

To make a long message short (time saver in itself); shoes (slip ons, of course) by door; FOR CABINET USE: pots and pans closest to stove top; Drinking glasses by refrigerator; plates by table; dry erase board behind front door; diaper, baby wipes, tylenol in glove box; "coat rack" used for backpacks and purse, instead on hallway wall; keys on hiking ring clipped to purse strap (can't lose 'em that way...cost .78 cents); DAILY meds/vitamins on top of fridge; all remotes on top of TV; 5-day hanging organizers for each child with daily outfits on each shelf. We also have a free standing "pantry" that we call the "kids cabinet". It holds their favorites like pop tarts, cereals, glasses/cups, and snacks that are all "parent approved". One shelf is reserved for toys and games, which get traded out every week. If we're in a hurry and they are asking for something, we send them to the "kids cabinet" and they are happy...so are we! By the way, we keep a backpack in there as the "to-go bag". They can fill it with anything in their cabinet!
