It's just me, my ds is also picky about the food. But he loves cereals and the powder too.

To save money I would recommend everyone to make sure you use the food before it expires or goes bad, so you don't have to throw it away.

Since the midle of April I turned off my circuit breaker for the heat. Every since than my bill has been only $35 a month for gas. At present I have a $159 credit for my gas bill. I figured if I kept off my circuit breaker tell Oct. I will not have to pay anything. Also, this saves on my electric bill.

I wish I could, but mine is also my c/a. i read somewhere tho to keep summer at 78 and winter at 68 will reduce bills.

When I shop online, I first log on to my account at Spree.com, then do my shopping at their stores. With Spree, you get cash back on every purchase, and they send you a check each time your cash back total is $25 or more. You also get a little extra money when people you have referred buy things too. I get checks from Spree about every other month or so. I like it because just about all big name stores are included, so I can usually find what I'm looking for in one spot - and get a rebate to boot!

I don't go to malls. The nearest one is a 2 hour drive, one way, so when you go, you spend the day. (and a lot of money)

call and check if your phone plan is the best for your usage. sometimes there are promotional rates that you can get in on. (i work for tmobile and often can save customers $3-40 a month
i saved more $25 last week by packing lunches and breakfasts for work everyday, i bought some foods that would keep in my drawers at work incase i forget my lunch. i have instant oatmeal and cheap paper bowls, generic brand snack-packs, cup noodles, raisens, cans of tuna and crackers. my work provides mayo, mustard, relish, katsup and taco sauce along with tea and sugars and cofee in the lunch room. i make a healthy lunch, iced tea with splenda and tuna salad with crackers. a can of tuna and part of a roll of ritz or saltines = less than $1

I use a pre-paid phone card to make long distance phone calls.

That way I never worry about calling out of area.

Don't carry all your extra money for the week with you, the less you have on you the less you'll be tempted to spend.

Always think twice before making any purchase. Do you need it or just want it ?

debbie, spree is good but I just read about jellyfish.com which combines cash back with some price search...it is pretty cool looking tho i dont know anyone who uses it yet. it looks cool!

I also like dealmine.com which is a combination of credit card and frequent flier discounts and rewards + comparison shopping.

My husband eats breakfast at home and always take his lunch with him. He is in construction.(builder) The workers (roofers, framers, etc.) all go out to lunch and they spend $6-10 a day on lunch!! No wonder none of them own a home!

that's very true... my dad is in construction (plumbing) and everybody spends about that much every day, including my dad.... my mom found other places to cut corners when we were younger and money was slim but my dad never brought lunch from home... looking back i don't mind too much because it was one of his small luxuries when he was working hard to support us all and he was fairly low-maintenance in many other ways.... also, it might have been partly an image/family thing because my grandparents own the company, and 3 of their 4 sons work there...
they, meaning my grandparents/the company will sometimes even buy breakfast/lunch for everybody...
i don't know about everybody else but everybody in my dads family (all 4 sons and their families) has a home... my dad is lucky because my mom pushed him to buy their house when we were younger (hence the slim times) but now, 15 years later it is probably worth double that or maybe more...and it was a great place to grow up... and since he is making more money now after his promotion to supervisor the mortgage has only gotten easier...
