I don't have any bottles around to fill, but I am sure I can get some friends to get some, which size makes the most sense to use? I mean a freezer is square, s a box would make more sense to me, but they are not usually water tight . SO should I search for big ones or small ones, does a two litre fit in a normal freezer?

Freezers do vary in size depending on your model. You'll need to experiment on what sizes are best for you. We mostly use the smaller 500ml bottles because our freezer is usually near full although we use 2 liter bottles from time to time too. If you need more of a square shape, you can also use empty milk cartons. Fill them with water and then tape the mouth shut so it doesn't spill out. They will produce the same effect.

This was a great tip!! Especially when power goes out, it saves your food much longer! We were grateful that we had done this last year when we were hit with 2 hurricanes, and twice lost power for a week.

I hadn't thought about it in terms of a power outage. I think its worthwhile to make room for at least a bottle or two of water. Although my freezer pretty much stays full.
