Well I do not mind buying used things but there are somethings that Im opposed to buying used like underwear/bra's stuff like that I can pass on.

I so agree! I saw a lady in a fancy house last year selling her victorias secret corsetts ect..... UM No Thanks!

There was a lady I think on Dr. Phil last year or something who even bought used deoderant & would cut off the used portion & they were not hard up for $ to say the least. I wish I had gotten to see more than just the preview of it & what others had written in various forums.

my rule is pretty simple: if i bought it new and couldn't return it to any store slightly used, chances are i don't buy the same article used. ergo, food, personal care, toiletries, diapers *chortle*, undergamets, and swimsuits are off my list.

I buy alot of stuff used, In fact almost every nonconsumable we own was used by someone else first. I guess my answer would be whatever you are comfortable getting used.

I don't mind buying used stuff unless I know I can get it for free after rebate.

I haven't had to pay for white sport socks in 2 years cause those were free. Now when I see opportunities for free socks I do the rebates for others.

As for toiletries, you should see my sample collection! I've often thought I should post a picture. Shampoo, soap, lotion, razors have come from Walmarts sample site or straight from the manufactuers site. Startsampling.com is also a good place.

What have I gotten used? Candles and candleholders. Books, CD's. Clothes. Kitchen gadgets. Shoes, boots, purses. MY CHEST FREEZER! It's a 1998 model from Fridgidaire and I paid $80! I can't tell you how long I've looked on craigslist.org and the Sears outlet in my area for something newer, decent and well priced. A friend bought it from her neighbor and she ran into money problems (as I suspected she would). She paid $75 and boy was I envious when I saw it in her garage. The thing looked brand new! Told her if see ever wanted to sell, I'd be interested. I only had to wait 3 weeks for the offer to come in.

Currently I'm looking to buy a massage table, used of course.

I buy my magazines used at Half Price Books for 25 cents apiece. A lot of times I can find current issues brand new. Makes me wonder who would ditch a brand new magazine in the first place.

You can get so many things used -- in fact, only a FEW things should be bought new.

Underwear, stuffed animals, and (some types of) hats come to mind. There really aren't very many.

Most things, even when they look awful, can be cleaned up with a wet paper towel and/or elbow grease.
