There was a big report that came out a number of years ago saying the current generation of kids would have a shorter lifespan due to obesity. As a society, we are literally eating ourselves to death.Originally posted by rerod View PostMy kids told me that they were taught "your going to die sooner than your parents" In high school. I'm not sure if it was the curriculum or just the teachers opinion, but what a downer.Steve

My rule is "real food" and organic if you eat the peal and at least 1/2 a gallon of filtered Berkey water daily. No pop, sugar, table salt or junk food. Nothing processed or bleached white. 1 teaspoon of sea salt daily and 2 drops lugals iodine.
I just wish my GF agreed with me. She believes your life span is predetermined regardless of what you put in your body. Maybe that's why she has Hypothyroidism, arthritis and high blood pressure.
The oldest living person in the world, Italian Emma Morano, celebrated her 117th birthday on Tuesday. Friends, neighbors and her doctor held a party for her. Morano says one of her secrets to living long is eating two uncooked eggs every day.

My wife uses a Brita for her coffee. I'll use it occasionally for drinks where flavor is very important. Otherwise, we drink tap water.Steve

I heard something pretty ugly about why there are so many 100+ years old people in Japan. It's because the government doesn't check if anyone is alive or dead (in Japanese culture this would be seen as very impolite), and some people simply continue to cash in the public pension, while the official recipient long ago died. It's all about gaming the system, I suppose.
