Well she raised enough money to file in two states so far. Let the drama and divide continue. It is disheartening the amount of money that is spent on campaigns and stuff like this. As our national debt grows and grows, both sides continue to burn through money.

I think that any fraudulent stuff that happens is not stuff that a recount would fix. For example, operatives for one candidate spreading misinformation about voting or doing things to discourage voters from the other party to go to the polls. I heard several reports of people getting emails or texts saying they could vote that way and not have to get to the polling place. I can't help but wonder how many people fell for that sort of thing and didn't actually cast a vote as a result. And I have no idea which party (and maybe it was both) was involved in those actions.

The people that fall for that stuff are the same type of people that lose money in the wire me money Nigerian scams. HOPEFULLY there are not enough of those people in the U.S. to make a difference in an election.

LOL. One would hope, though the stupidity of the public never ceases to amaze/disturb me.

What really discouraged a lot of people from voting is actually the "blow out" lead Clinton had going into election day. Young people are more likely to vote Clinton, but young people are also extremely lazy when it comes to this kind of stuff. A lot of my friends sat at home because they thought it was going to be a blow out so they had better things to do(by better things I mean sitting at home doing nothing).

I don't know what reports they were seeing. Everything I saw was showing a razor thin margin with Clinton only ahead by about 3% which was within the margin of error of the polls, so essentially a tie going in. And the final result reflected just that. Clinton won by about 1.4% based on the current count.

The polls showing that she had a strong lead in her firewall states...it was exactly those states she lost unexpectedly. I believe only thirtyfiveeight gave Trump a 30% chance of winning while everyone else(including betting in vegas) had Trump in the teens or much lower.

I created a thread with a Democrat suggesting why she lost. I thought it was a good article. You should check it out.

Unfortunately, the polls, intentionally or not, affect the outcome.

Clinton supporter in state where polls show she has a big lead: I guess I don't need to bother voting since she's way ahead. My vote won't make a difference.

Trump supporter in state where polls show he is losing: I better make sure I vote. He's going to need every vote he can get.

So a poll showing Clinton ahead actually works in Trump's favor.

We need to reform the entire system. Shorten the campaign. Cap the spending. Ban polls. Actually control the debates instead of letting them be free for alls. That would all be a good start.

I like your suggestions, especially the cap on spending. The money they spend could do a lot of good instead of mud slinging ads. I find it infuriating.

What exactly does "participate in the recount" mean? Who actually does the recount? What is there to "participate" in?

Problem with the polls is that people don't understand margin of error or what that means. It means polls are only so accurate, and can have lots of statistical noise one way or the other.

I swear we voted a child into the white house. Why can't Trump just respond in a presidential way about the recount? It was a CROWDFUNDED effort..meaning the people have spoken for a recount..not any individual person! He should respect that, welcome it even...and if the recount doesn't change anything...America can put that issue to rest.

Watch he says something in the line of "I TOLD YOU SO" after the recount....sigh....
