  • is anyone else surprosed by reactions

I am surprised and somewhat baffled by the reactions lately.
Most items involved to combat spread are common sense (hand washing/ cleaning things regularly and staying home and self distancing) but it is being portrayed by some as some monolithic feat.
Rules and orders are being put in place so no more then 10 gather in places but .... one person at work is a possible case and yet they ONLY alerted those with "close and REGULAR contact" with that person. I cannot eat 4 feet away from a perfect stranger "in case" but can work in a building and share a restroom with a person or persons that may have this virus and only notified if i sit in next cubicle. SMH
. If we believe the closing of public places is needed then if a person worked in the same building by this possible infected person should they not be made aware? That seems to contradict the messages out there.

I think many here on forum may not be shocked that dine in options are closed at restaurants and entertainment venues, but so many seem to be losing their minds.
Honestly I doubt I would be as concerned about someone at the next table as opposed to the health or hygiene of the staff handling the food. The staff are still making take-out and delivery. I have seen some delivery drivers and am not convinced that some delivery I want to even touch the containers my food is in.

I am amazed there are so many that are either unwilling or perhaps unable to cook for themselves?
I realize some places more ppl are packed in and that may be more of an issue then in my area. In one area restaurants are ADVERTISING to drive in one case about 20 minutes to cross a state line and eat out in the neighboring state. I bet you they will be busy as some simply cannot stay at home for 2 weeks?

This also is highlighting but no one is talking about it about how many people simply have NO emergency fund or able to fund themselves for even a short time in a crisis.

    It's really not a contradiction.

The current definition of contact is being within 6 feet of an infected person for 10 minutes or more.

A school classroom where 20 or so kids are on top of each other for 8 hours qualifies.
A person whose coworker at the next desk all day qualifies.
Someone who was in the restroom at some point before you went in there doesn't qualify.

This is the screening guidelines that we are currently using in the hospital and urgent care setting.

So someone in restroom AT the same time perhaps having a coughing fit in next stall but under 10 minutes would not MEET your guidelines?
      Interesting.
The notice here was simply who did this person remembers being in contact with.. then find out their badge system does not report where people are in this high secured place now has people sign in on a notepad...... i am just amused as i seem the either over reactions or under reactions out there..... and the failures in the plans.

What I find most interesting is the number of conspiracy theories that people seem quite happy to believe. The latest I heard is that Trump is going to declare marital law or the administration is going to carry out mass arrests of corrupt deep state actors.

Its almost like the situation is so new people are having a hard time getting their minds around it.
