  • How does internet speed affect your productivity?

My current internet is slow. I usually have to click on something, move to another tab, click on something there, return to loaded first tab. It's a drag.

However, it's hard to justify faster internet.

Do you guys notice yourselves being a lot more productive on a faster line? Probably... just convince me I need faster internet.. I'm kinda cheap about some things lol.

Hell yes! Get the faster connection. You won't be sorry.

Most of my job isn't internet-based but some things are, like electronic prescribing. If it was slow, I just couldn't use it. I don't have time to be sitting around waiting for pages to load, messages to send, things to download. I'm too busy for that.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

I have a special video phone (I can't here) that can't run unless I have high speed, so I don't have a choice there.

I have long distance family/friends and skype with them for free.

I trust you. You're frugal yet know where to spend your money (based on your past posts I've read). I'll get a faster speed. Is there any threshold where it's like, "Hell yeah, now we're cookin' with gas!!"?

Right now I'm on 1mb upload/download. It sucks, I know. Would 50mb do the trick?

I'm not the tech guy so I can't specifically answer that.

Another thing to consider is the processing speed of your computer. If it is older, the computer may be limiting your speed more than your internet connection. Each time we've upgraded computers, we've always noticed how much faster the internet is even though the connection speed hadn't changed.
