  • Forum policy change?

Any way the forum can be modified to make it more difficult for certain types of posts to appear? Just today, a bunch of very old threads were resurrected by someone who just replied with very short responses that didn't add anything substantive to the conversation. This happens often enough that it is becoming annoying (I had a post about frying pans with the useless response "good brand" LOL).

How about moderating the first 10 or so posts from new users, and requiring a certain number of new threads get created?

I see this all the time and it is annoying. I usually just delete posts that make no sense like the one you described. It's fairly easy to see spam.

These get deleted. It's a never ending battle fighting the spammers and some will always get through, but we try to get rid of the posts in the timely manner.

I had this problem when I had my own website and forums. LOTS of spammers and bots that post OVER night and make it a mess to clean up.
