For me, the best that stand out for years is the Pearl Harbor. The rest, no interest to watch them. So I can't tell if there's any good movies other than this.

Hunger games

I read the books and I thought the movie held pretty true to the book. It was pretty awesome. Of course, that also means I was mentally dissecting the differences in my mind so I could tell Hubby at the end of the film. LOL. Poor guy.

Safehouse was also really great.

My favorite movie of 2011, since the OP asked what movie was our favorite during that year, was probably "Midnight in Paris". I love that it incorporates sci-fi with great authors, artists, and other characters from the 1920s, with romantic comedy, drama, and a really meaningful story.

The "Wrong side of the law" is an excellent movie even though its in black and white.
