  • Halloween Time

So it's my favorite time of year - Halloween Party time!! I need to figure out what would be a great costume. I went into Party Time, but there was not a great selection and the quality was so-so.

I found CostumeHell.com which had a much better selection and they're affordable too. There are so many costumes to chose from – too much now I can’t figure out which one I want. I do know that my limit is $100 max.

    Any suggestions?

What are you going to dress up as?

I got my costume from CostumeHell.com last year - I was a cop.

THis year I'm torn - I'm looking at either being - a Moulin Rouge Mime or a Rag Darlin. They're both great costumes, and they're both under $50!

I've got a few days to make up my mind, but I'm so torn!!

$100 for a costume? You do know this is the savings board.
I doubt that I've ever spent more than about $20 on a costume and usually less than that. Last year, I bought a yellow sweatsuit and a red t-shirt at the thrift shop for a total of under $10. I bought a bottle of white fabric paint for 99 cents and I made a Winnie the Pooh outfit.

My goal is to create the most inexpensive costume possible. Last year I was a cowboy and spent about $20 on the whole outfit. It was great! With regards to finding a costume, there are these costume shops that pop up all over the place around this time. Have any popped up in your area, they are all over the place here in Florida..

I'm going as a "ceiling fan"

white t-shirt ($1 at dollar store)
green marker (I didn't have any, so I bought a pack for $1)
            green pom-poms ($2 for two)

On the t-shirt, i put things like "Go Ceilings!" "Raise the Roof" "#1" and then put my last name on the back. I'm going to wear my hair in pig tails and use some of the pom pom strings around the rubber band.

            Total cost: $4

You should enter in that Ceiling Fan costume in the Hallow-Fame Photo contest. Sounds like a cool costume...Just upload a picture of yourself, your children or even your pet in a Halloween costume on americangreetings.com/contest/2009_tombstone/index.pd and you will have a chance to win a Family Fun Prize Pack.

I am trying to figure out how to do Dorothy (6 year old girl), Toto (for 1 year old), 'something scary' (7.5 yo boy) and a Lion(4yo boy), for as little as possible.

By the time I am done with all that, I have no energy/creativity left for me.

But I love the pooh outfit DS!

Well .... you've already got a lion ... a tiger qualifies as 'something scary' ... seems pretty obvious to me that you need to be a bear!!!

I don't know if this is doable, but it's one of the best costumes I've ever seen!
