It has come to my attention that a credit card (Barclays) has filed suit against me. I'm guessing I'll be served any day. I suspect they will have trouble tracking me down as I now live in another state. I'm afraid they are going to have the trial without serving me. What do I do?

In the event that they do find me, is there any way to fight this? It is the OC. I thought it had gone to a third party, but it was merely an office hired to harass me. Barclays recalled the debt from them and are now suing. I have no job, no possessions, and almost no money. Will this follow me forever?

This is a legal question, not a financial one. The answer and your options will depend on governing state law regarding the statute of limitations, wage garnishment, etc. Run, do not walk to your local legal aid. Bring any documentation you have of them filing suit with you to your local legal aid office. They'll help you explore your options.

I'd like to know more even though I doubt that you will ever return to post again.

Why do you have no job, no money, and no possessions? And, are you doing anything positive to improve your life?
