I happened to learn from a friend today that with a Kohl's store credit card, if you carry a balance, you pay no interest as long as you pay at least 1/3 of your balance each month. I had never heard that before and just thought it was rather unique. So you can get partial interest-free financing if you need to stretch out your repayment a bit. I don't shop at Kohl's but I don't think they sell anything other than clothing and small housewares so it's unlikely you'd be making a large purchase there but it still could be useful information for someone.

I don't shop there regularly, but they do have quality products. Most of my pots and pans have come from there. Additionally I am on my 3rd set of bed sheets from them. I have be buying shirts for work. Bath towels also.
They are real pushy with their credit cards thought when I go to check out:
"Sign up and save 15% on your purchase today"
"No thank you"
"But you'll save 15%"
"No thank you"
"Why don't you want to sign up, don't you like saving money?"
*Boggles*
I've had that exact conversation on about five occasions over the years.

My wife and I actually walked out of an AT&T store just a couple of weeks ago for a similar incident. We went to buy her a new phone and the guy kept pushing us to sign up for DirecTV. We told him repeatedly that we weren't interested and only wanted the phone. Despite that, when he gave us the price for the new phone, it included DirecTV. He would not take no for an answer so we got up and walked out, telling him he had just lost a sale and commission for being so obnoxious. We drove to another AT&T store across the street and the guy there couldn't have been nicer. We were in and out in 20 minutes with just what we wanted and no hard sell to get something we didn't want.Last edited by disneysteve; 10-11-2018, 07:05 AM.Steve
* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
