    Student loan paid off!

Plenty more to go, but this is the third one I've knocked completely out with a final $1200 payment, and it still feels great. With each loan I've conquered, I feel a tiny bit more free. Still paying well over the minimum, but there is a bit more freedom in knowing my minimum is going down each time in case of a bad month, and that much closer to being 'stuck' where I am because of my student loan debts.

I'd like the thank this community (again) for their honest, and even sometimes brutal advice. When I first posted here, I had way too much student loan debt, a new-ish used car, some credit card debt, and essentially $0 in savings/assets. I now have about a thousand in liquid savings, $3-$4000 in stock/401k assets, and planned a vacation for late august that is 100% paid for ahead of time (with enough savings that I'll probably have leftovers!). That's in addition to about $15k in my student debt paid and car off only since joining and receiving the advice here. I still feel behind in terms of my student debt, but the vast progress I've made just from a change of mindset and habits has sped up my progress dramatically -- and I have this community to thank for it!

Btw -- my roommate and others who are a few years younger and just starting out come to me for some basic 'financial advice' now, quite a change in perception I'd say!

That's great news! Keep up the good work. It's only a matter of time before you're debt free! Don't forget to regularly look at the earnings side of the equation. If you can make more money elsewhere, those debts can be paid off a lot sooner.

      Good luck!

Less debt is always good! Congratulations on getting as far as you have and being an inspiration to others, too.

Good on you! You've made a plan, stuck to it and have eliminated yet another student loan. We're so proud of you! How nice that your roommate and others who are younger value your opinions and look to you for financial advice. Atta girl!
