I forgot to mention that it's looking like I'll owe about 2k in taxes so with that in mind I'm probably going to split the 4k to half tax and half to EF. Just did those about an hour ago - ugh 1099 work.

I agree with the save for next car soon as I have this one paid off. My grandma always did that and always paid cash for cars, it's something I'd really like to be able to do for the next one!

As far as the engagement ring goes, that's probably something I will do (with a gem). I'm only doing it once, and doing it right (in my own mind) means more to me then paying off 0% debt slightly quicker. While I realize that's not the fiscally responsible decision per say, it's the decision I'll be going with as I feel I can still meet all my financial goals in conjunction with it. With the new bonus structure in place I stand to possibly get anywhere from 25-150% my new base salary at the end of the year so I'd pull from that to do the ring (as well as pay off all debt). My financial plan as it stands now is based on 0% bonus, though I've never missed a bonus.

Another question - does anyone know if there are still first time house buyer credits around? It's looking like I'll be owing a good bit in taxes so anything I can do to reduce them would be great. Already filed for homestead exemption.
