Paying off Student Loan! - End in Sight!

Great job. I paid off my student loans 3 or 4 years ago. They were more substantial ($102,000) and took longer (12 years) but I remember how nice it felt to send off that final payment and not have to write that check the following month.

Sallie Mae left my house in 2007. Kicked her to the curb. If she would have stayed longer, I would have started charging for rent.

Congratulations!!!
Paying off your student loan is great news and you should be very proud of it.
I was lucky enough that my parents (actually my poor widow mom), paid for my education and never needed a student loan. It wasn't easy, and I had to cut on everything else to pay for college, but it was worth it.
I just think that it is totally unfair for the poor new graduates that are trying to enter the difficult work market right now. with the recession and the high unemployment rate, the last thing they need is to be in debt even before they start earning a salary.
Good job getting rid of this debt, way to go.

Good for you, dude. I wish I was there. The wife and I have a combined student loan debt of about 40,000. And are we working in our fields? Of course not. I loved college, but I'm starting to agree with Frank Zappa.

Paid Off

I paid it off this AM! YAY!

Whew... now onto the equity loan, was hoping to have both paid off by end of 2010. But hey Im still happy! Hopefully 2011 will be the year I become Debt Free!

haha had a meal out yesterday and me and the hubby made a late turkey dinner as we didnt have a real one due to travel and his job on Thanksgiving, So Ive got a fridge full of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and pumpkin pie. Eating out sounds blah at this point

Maybe treating myself to a a massage?
