  • Pay off debt with a site

I have been googling around and have found that many people are hosting sites about there debt and then putting google ads on them. Has anyone done this and if so, does this make you any money?

Not unless you are willing to spend a a few hours a day for a couple of years working on it. That is how long it takes for most blogs to begin generating money if you put the behind the scenes work into it.

What about a web site that is more than a blog? I would think that if you could get traffic to the site the advertisements should pay for it. If there were some ads that would pay based on impression instead of click then the money would come in fast.

This site must be doing well with the ads, and the number of users.

This site does well now, but it took two years before it made any money and that was after spending a huge amount of time on it. When we started this site, nate and i both had full time jobs and it was like we were both working a 21nd full time job here. It certainly can be done (if I can, anyone can), but you need to expect it to take time and a lot of work. There are certainly easier ways to make money

Do you read this correctly, that two years of work and money turned into a stay-at-home job? If so then I link I need to get in that business. I do web developing at work and it is seldom on things that I want to do, so maybe this is my ticket. Thanks for the information, and if you have any good suggestions for starting a site please send them on.

          Thanks!
