  • Digital Coupons

Digital coupon system saves us time and space (less clutter), but I think it is a little challenging. Once it is uploaded, it is sort of hard for me to remember what kind of coupons I have.

I uploaded some coupons into my Fred Meyers card and went shopping. I bought two Clorox items (bleach and bleach gel) because I uploaded a coupon of two Clorox items for a dollar. After I came back home and checked my receipt, I realized my coupon was not used. I went back to Fred Meyer website and looked really close to my digital coupons and realized Clorox Bleach Gel seems not part of "ANY" Clorox items (the coupon said, "ANY Clorox products including...." and the Gel was not included). How tricky!

Does anyone have a similar experience? How do you manage digital coupons?

I agree it can be a challenge. When I write up my shopping list, I always make a note on it if I have a coupon (digital or otherwise) and what the coupon requires (such as number of items or sizes). But it seems you found a particularly tricky one!

Digital coupons are indeed very tricky and one or twice I have gone through this situation. So I have just stopped using such coupons that do nothing to save our money.

I add them all to my card and then print out the list and make a mark next to the ones I need to buy. If it doesn't come off at the register I go over to customer service and show them the print out plus the items and they usually refund me on the spot.

I don't think that digital coupons are really worth it. They are too hard to use and manage IMO.
