I tried a small bucket from walmart ( it has a lid) and then I got too many coupons so I moved to the binder method and while it is a pain sometimes, I do use my coupons more effeciently (sp). If you don't have many a small recipe box would probably work with index cards.

I have mine in long envelopes filed by category in a drawer. When I go to the store I use a long envelope (leftover from junk mail) to write my list on and put the coupons inside in order depending on the layout of the store.
I keep my coupons for trading in two small cardboard boxes.

When I used the small box or envelope method it seemed when I got home I had always forgotten to use at least one or two or more coupons. The binder method is very efficient. I don't forget to use the ones that are expiring. It is kinda big but not too bad, if you buy a box of frozen bread it is perfect under it for lifting it flat. and we are always buying the texas toast. Try different methods and you will determine which works best. I tried the binder method years ago and discarded it but redid it this past year. I just do so much better with it.

I have put mine into a Creative memories photo organizer. The little ones you get as a thank you gift. It works ok I just need to lable the areas.

            Re: Good container for coupons??

I bought a zippered day-timer book and took out all its pages. I then took the pages out of a small photo album (must have sealed bottom) and punched coresponding holes on the open side. On the closed side (open on top), I cut away the top third edge and trimmed (up) diagonally the front and back. These album pages did also have a middle page that I left in-tact. Trimming diagonally makes it easier to put copuns in/ out, while remaining intact edge and bottom keep them from falling out. Then I used tabs for categories. My day-timer had places for cards that I use to hold different store savings cards. The whole thing is small, contained, and I can easily flip pages to find cupons. I didn't like the lg. notebook or accordian type systems. So far this has worked out great! Hope this makes sense.
