I didn't like my bread maker. I started using it just for kneading, and then baking it in the oven. The bread maker needed a special recipe and ingredients added in a certain order. And somethimes the bread wouldn't come out right ie didn't raise and had to be thrown out, which increased my costs.

I did have an older model, as it was purchased a long time ago, so maybe things have changed.

I love my bread maker. I am one of those people that has never made bread without one and would not know how. All I have to do is put the ingredients in and push start. I got mine at walmart a few years ago. Only bad thing is it takes up alot of counter space(unless you keep it somewhere else).

I very rarely buy bread. I love my breadmaker. Buy making my own bread, I can control what goes into it. It is so much cheaper than buying bread also.

Making bread by hand takes 10 minutes of work. I use quick rise yeast so that cuts the rising time considerably. It takes a half dozen loaves to get the hang of it, to adjust the recipe to what you want and such.

Being as busy as I am I don't get to make bread as often as I would like. I was doing it every second day for a while. This weekend i'm going to get two more pans so I can do 2 or 3 loaves at once and then only bake once a week. Seriously tho it's super easy and super cheap. I'll post my recipe if anyone wants.

my boyfriend is lending me his breadmaker at the moment and I LOVE it. the only thing I don't love is the shape of the bread, but if that doesn't bother you, then get one. I use it to make dough a lot...just last week I made some fabulous homemade buns that were SO easy with the breadmaker, and we were both raving about them.

look around at thrift stores. often people give theirs away after the holidays when they get the latest model. you can probably find a cheap one in a place like that.

I have to say a bit late, that I don't have one, I use my kitchen aid for kneading the dough, works great and is a multi use tool. But it doesn't rise or cook the bread, though there is no reason I couldn't, but I use it to make the next kind of bread while the first one is rising in a greased bowl.

I want a KitchenAid but can't afford one at the moment so I make bread the old fashioned way. I have been cooking since I was 6 years old which was a long time ago.

I love mine. Its so simple, even my children can use it. I find if they make the bread, they are more inclined to eat it when I put it in their lunches than if I make it.

I would like to have your recipe. I need a good bread recipe for a bread maker. I inherited one from my sister but can't the manual for it. She died Oct 3rd and I was so busy with the details of her funeral and all the other little details that crop up it was a while before I even thought about looking for the manual. Her machine is a Toastmaster TBR2.
