My MIL is borrowing one of these for DH's grandparents 65th anniversary party. She put me in charge of figuring out what to serve with it. Anyone used these before? Any ideas? So far we have come up with the following:
    fruit - probably strawberries, bananas
graham crackers, if we can find some that come in sticks

    What else??

Pretzels. Really. The small sticks. I know, it sounds odd but the sweet-salty combo really works well.

Bookie, great site. What a ton of ideas! But I'm trying to figure out how to dip some of that stuff without getting fingers in the chocolate (like nuts). Some things you can stick a toothpick in...but nuts?

I guess I am leaning toward:
              fresh fruit assortment
              cookies: shortbread and/or coconut macaroon
definitely pretzels! easy to dip and so yummy
graham crackers or some other type of sweet cracker (like animal crackers, but not the animal shapes!)
maybe if I get adventurous I'll buy a cheesecake or pound cake and cut it into little squares too.
Thanks for the ideas! I would love to hear what has worked/not worked for others.

At a wedding I went to, they served strawberries, bananas, pound cake, and marshmallows. Yum.

Pinapple is yummy, I know it sounds odd, but try it.

                  Oreos
                  Marshmellows
Those cheepie fluffy cookies with the cream filling
                  I second pretals

pound cake cut in chucnks, or angel food cake in chunks.

warning, keep the bananas away from the other food, it will sorta make all the stuff in the close air of it taste like banana...

I'm glad that we're all staying on our diets this year. (Ha Ha). Besides they're now saying that dark chocolate is good for you with it's antioxidants.

My BIL had one at his Christmas party, WHOA, the grownups couldn't stay away! He had all the things mentioned above, I tried them all...

The one thing his wife said was she wouldn't use as much oil as the instructions said next time. The consistency was a little too thin, and it robbed the chocolate flavor. However, it was still a huge hit.

That looks neat for a party. But, I think I woud hate to clean the thing.
Anyway, chocolate covered pretzels are my favorite! Yum!
