  • Asking For Too Much? Coupons

I have a problem with my coupon stratagy and need some advise on how I go about getting free groceries.

Cents-off coupons just don't interest me. I like to go for free vouchers and free product coupons. I go to the store and write down the upc numbers, the factory code, and the sell by date of any product I am interested. I then think about what is wrong with this product? All products have something wrong with them, from cambells soup that explodes in the microwave to sardines that have big bones. I then send an email to the company and tell them I am unhappy. about 60% of these companys send free product coupons, others ignor you. the result is $25-30 a week in free groceries and a handful of cents-off coupons. I of course never buy these products. do I have the wrong idea?? please advise.

I think that this is just wrong and it is what gives couponers a bad name. If the product has a legitimate flaw or something went bad, then I believe it's ok to complain, but to look for things to complain about just to get coupons is not fair to the company.

It is also a limited strategy because after you complain once or twice, you will be on a list so they won't send you coupons in the future.

I'm not sure why you don't like cent off coupons. When combined with sales and store doubling the items can be free or almost free.

I agree, this gives couponers a bad wrap, not to mention very dishonest.

The time and effort you put into writing down UPC's and other info,
thinking up a lie and then calling the company is more time than it takes to match a coupon to a sale.

I would also add that your conduct could be considered fraudulent.

This is definitely coupon fraud. It's not only unethical, but prosecutable.

Ditto-why don't you spend the time and energy doing something that isn't dishonest to save money?

Is this a joke?? Besides you need advice, not advise.

My advice is knock it off!

Are you kidding? You don't like cents off coupons, but spend what I would consider to be a large amount of time to try to get free coupons by being dishonest...I hope these companies do keep track of your complaints and blacklist you..
