Climbing roses question

I just planted some climbing Don Juan's this spring. They are flowering beautifully but not gaining much in height. How many years does it take for them to be to nearly their full height potential??

I would think that depended on the soil conditions as well as the climate. I feed my roses each week, a specific rose fertilizer right now, since someone gave it to me. I normally wouldn't buy a product like this...........but water with my compost or manure "tea" that I have in a barrel out back.

We have a few climbers. They looked sparse the first year and filled in and climbed high the second.

You may already know, but the most important factor with climbers is not to prune them the way you would regular shrub roses. Prune them for shape, and clean them up, but don't cut their height down unless a cane requires it for a given reason. DH and I made the mistake of pruning too hard on our first climber.
