  • Garden is growing

The peas that I planted - sugar snap and regular - have sprouted and are about 2-3 inches high. The snails found my lettuce that I planted from a 6-pack, so I need to do something about that.

It's not much, but it's something.

I have strawberries going from last year, and I'm curious to see how they do this year. The plants I planted last year were from a 6-pack, but I let the 'babies' grow from the 'mother' plants and am hoping they'll be sturdier, growing straight from the ground rather than having been transplanted.

Oh, and my rasberry canes have already started leafing out! DD and I were excited to see that.

Congratulations. I don't garden much, but I used to love helping out my mother when she did her garden and watching as the plants grew.

That must be a thrill! Sigh -- here where I am we're still months away from such activity (rubbing my hands in anticipation)....

Gardening! I still have about 6 inches of snow on my beds! Our last frost date is June 1st. Normally we can't even plant peas until April. This year I am going to try it in March since our winter has been so mild.

You should eat your vegetables, they are very good for you! Why are you growing them if you don't eat them? Give them a try, you might find you aquire a taste for them if you eat them a couple times...experiment with creamy cheesy sauces.
