  • Riverbendgirl's 2014 Money Saving Challenge

    Hi everyone,
I started this challenge today and put away $52. After reading all of Jedfery's articles I decided to use a Rubbermaid container in my kitchen to collect my challenge money. I am planning on doing the challenge in reverse order with my biggest numbers at the start of the challenge.
This money was collected by combing my Christmas Money given as a gift ($50) and $2 change from my car.

    Week 1: $52

Great job getting started...and with the largest amount, too!

Great way to start, and especially getting that largest number off at the beginning.

Thank you all so much! This challenge is going to be hard. Your support is going to help a great deal. I have come up with a plan for part of the money, however, I will probably have to go to the Yahtzee Method. I will post my weekly totals every Sunday. I can't wait to see what the new year holds for us all.

I hope everyone had a great week. I have found this to be more difficult than I thought. I have learned so much by reading the articles and blogs. It has really helped in terms of thinking how to save. This week I was able to save $51 by returning an unwanted gift for $23, $12 from gas budget, $14 from my grocery budget and $2 from cleaning out all my coat pockets.

Remember you can save even when you are spending. If you need to buy an item look for the best price for it. The price difference can be large at times. One of may proud saving method is to wait until sales to buy what I need and check bargain bins.

$5 this week. Not as much as I has hoped, however next week is another week. Wishing you all a successful week ahead.

That's what I love about the Yahtzee method; as long as you knock off one of the amounts, you're meeting the challenge. Great job!

The important things are that you did save money, you checked in, and you did apportion it to your 52-week savings challenge account.
