  • "GoFundMe" but for jobs ?

Hi. I guess i was looking for a place to share my financial frustrations(and maybe get some advice), and since this is the savings advice forum, i thought this would be the appropriate place to do it.

Me and me parents were finally evicted from our apartment in the spring of 2016. My dad`s financial loss is immense and there is no way for him to recover for the foreseeable future. My mom`s mental health has been declining for a number of years and after getting fired in 2012 she couldn`t go on trying to find a new job. My dad`s caring for her, but she doesn`t have any sort of pension of disability help. Maybe the worst part of this is is that this isn`t the first time we`ve gone through this.

Meanwhile i have been trying to scrape enough money to actually build a house without any taking any debt, but God knows this is not easy. We`re from a eastern European country and although we pay similar prices for a lot of things, wages are 4 times lower than they should be, which automatically means that a family with two working members paying ~250-300 dollars a month just on rent and utilities and the rest of food and clothing has no realistic chance of having their own home and live on the threshold of poverty, which is were we are . There is barely any notion of social net and government assistance.

Considering the circumstances, i have been trying to get a job abroad much like a lot of other people, but i have found is that for most people getting anything but a minimum pay job in a non-related field is just not really achievable from some reason- i have earned a college(cultural field) and masters degree(politics and economy) from reputable local institutions and always have had good grades, but as an eastern european looking for work in eastern Europe the first thing one learns is that your degrees and experience may or may not mean much for the employer. In order to save money on rent i have also tried getting jobs that come with accommodation and i did find one, but it`s only seasonal and it doesn`t get me more than 2200 dollars a year, on Christmas time.

So i am constantly thinking of ways of getting around my problem. I have wrote to the people at Habitat for Humanity, which i understand help people build a house, but they haven`t replied yet. I have also heard of things like GoFundMe, but there are plenty of people looking for help and i`m thinking i`m not really there yet.

What i need really is something like "GoHireMe", but from what i know there isn`t such a place.

I feel that the situation is just slightly ridiculous. There are ways to get money without working for them but you can`t get a job without...earning it(and how)? Wish i could figure that one out, because while trying to find a job abroad after finishing school i have been applying for a lot of different jobs and i just didn`t get a reply from potential employers.

As a conclusion and an ending to my long post or rant if you will, i still need about 15.000 dollars before i dream of having a near to normal life and i`m probably going to get there at some point, but i do appreciate any sort of advice that would help me speed things up. I hope at least some people will understand the nature of the issue.
