I bought a $15 necklace with a pendant a few years back because it was pretty. The pendant was gold plated with CZ but had a real gemstone. My husband reset gemstone into an actual gold pendant with diamonds. When I went to the local pawn shop to get a nice gold chain for it they informed me that the original chain that came with my pendant was actually gold.
I went somewhere to try to get a few bucks for it since its worn down and thin (its about 30 years old) and they told me they would only give me $7 for it because its only 10K gold and a few oz (I think 2 oz). Even though I got the necklace for almost nothing I'd like to see if I can get more like $20 for it. It's not in nice enough condition to sell so I wouldn't put it on ebay or anything although I suppose I could list it as scrap metal. Does anyone know what I should accept as a decent price for this gold necklace?
