Here is the schedule of when the rebate payments will be sent.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

I heard someone on Lou Dobbs today state that they should repeal the economic stimulus package and only give that money to people with mortgage problems. That made me gasp!

I'm last in line. By then, the coming super inflation will have eroded it to $8.79 in today's dollar values.

I think they shouldn't have done this stimulus package to begin with but Lou Dobbs is just crazy. Why should our tax dollars go to people that bought houses that they couldn't afforded? I just bought a house a year ago and the banks said I could afforded a 400,000 house and kept asking why I was buying a house only worth 120,000. I knew I could afforded a more expensive house but I restrained and got a very nice older house that needed a little work instead. I figured it is better to live below your means and put the extra money into a savings for bad times like today. Why should my tax dollars go to people that couldn't figure out this simple concept.

                  I couldn't agree more!

It would be like the government helping to bail me out of my mound of CC/student loan debt. (Which I would never ask for!)

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Why should I pay someone who later on will make a stupider mistake? It's the same as saying that I should pay someone else's credit card debts...

Um. . .that's a great idea. Um. . .I'm having a hard time making my mortgage payment. Send me money please.

                      LOL.

No you wouldn't. You'd much rather be the person who is living within their means, paying their bills on time, investing for the future and sleeping well at night.

giving money to people with financial problems does no good

My DH was telling me about his co-worker this guy pointed out to the parking lot and told DH he got his tax return back and bought a car with it , DH says "wow how big was your tax return ?" and the guy says that was a down payment so DH says you financed it and the guy actually said " paid for it financed it its all the same thing" !
this same guy is waiting for his stimulus payment so he can finance a motorcycle

my DH hates this as he sees coworkers do this and then they come in demanding raises as they cannot even pay their bills on the wage they get
,its pretty hard to out earn stupidity

I'm glad I did the direct deposit! I'll get my check long before I normally would have as my last digits are 75
