  • I hope u can help me

Hi Im new here and I have a question that my doctor told me to look up on the net. He told me look up a good place to keep my money in my house. I no longer have a bank account so I want to kinda build a bank here at home. Does anyone have a good idea where I can hide it? lol

This should give you some tips:

    Conversation with a burglar

However, I think that you should get a bank account if possible and then open up an online bank account as this will at least keep your money from losing value to inflation.

This is also a pretty neat idea

Not trying to promote the product or anything, but that was where I found this.

Here is a multi page discussion of hiding money at home.

The outlet thing is cool, but if you have a fire you'll lose it all. Definitely be wise and do something that is fire proof and can be locked.

I have a small safe and it is bolted to the floor. My husband has built houses where the safe is built into the wall.

you discuss money with your doctor?

If you are going to stash large amounts of cash you should have a hidden safe fully locked bolted and disguised and do not tell anyone where it is (not even your doctor )

well if the Dr part is a therapist...you might need to tell them something...

I'm curious why you would rather keep your cash at home. I do keep some cash at home for mini-emergencies, but it certainly doesn't replace my bank account.

hmm okay but IF I had cash hidden i would not tell any one about it

I watch too many crime shows ;-) one I saw there was a lady that taped 10K to the back of a dresser with duct tape her son stole half of it,she reported it to the police and the cop stole the other half

Of course, the flipside of that is all the stories I've heard (true, not on tv shows) about older folks who died and while cleaning out the house, family members found cash hidden in all kinds of odd places and had no way to know if they had found it all. Or, even worse, cash wasn't found until after the house was sold and new owners discovered it while renovating. Or household items were given to Goodwill and cash was found hidden in things that had been donated.

I prefer keeping my money in a bank so I can earn interest on it.

Worse for who, lol! It would sure be a nice bonus for the new owners.

That is my grandmother, she famously hid money in her house (famously, as in my mom and I knew she did it ). When she finally moved we tore the place apart, but even grandma admitted that she didn't think we got it all. Unfortunately, she couldn't remember all her great hiding spots! At least the money's safe...it now belongs to someone else, but atleast it's safe .

Personally, I'd keep it in a bank and earn interest.

                              Stash Spot in your House

I would wrap your cash in some foil as if it were ground beef and stick it in the back of the freezer behind some other stuff. That way in case of a fire it should be protected fairly well and I don't think a robber is going to be looking for cash where frozen food should be. Hope this helps.
