Re: Abercrombie & Fitch to pull tees after "girl-cott"
Originally posted by Teen People ArticleWe asked TEEN PEOPLE readers what they thought of the T-shirts and 55 percent of those who took the poll said the shirts were "offensive." Another 25 percent were not offended by the shirts. Another 20 percent expressed an interest in buying one of the shirts
I mean, the shirts are tacky and IMO dumb, but so what? I don't find them offensive enough for a total boycott of A&F. Nor do I find them half as offensive as some of the stuff A&F has done in the past (stuff that really deserved the public outrage it created).
Any contrary opinions out there? I'm willing to be pursuaded, but I just don't get it. To me the shirts that say "Boys are dumb! Throw rocks at them." are a lot more offensive, and I think the people who boycotted that company were on firm (anti-voilence) ground. But I don't see this boycott the same way.
