Why you hold on to clutter

Erin Doland is a minimalism guru and editor of the home and office organization blog Unclutterer; today she's taking a look at the psychology behind clutter, and why it's hard for you to get rid of something once you've touched it.

I never thought of the tactile aspect of it. We've been fans of Clean House and now Hoarders so this gives me a little more insight.

My folks grew up during the depression and they kept lots of stuff because they had the fear of another depression and not having anything. I can't tell you how many times I heard, "Don't throw that away, you might need that someday."

I'm one of the minimalists. I'd rather save money than spend it on things, therefore, I have fewer things. I'm also very good of letting go of things because I don't like clutter. I just don't become attached for the most part.
My other blog is Your Organized Friend.
