  • The Diary of Anna Nicole

    By Valerie S. Johnson

OK, so it’s not “The Diary of Anne Frank.” But two journals written more than fifteen years ago by the late Anna Nicole Smith were just purchased for nearly $60,000 by an anonymous recording industry executive in Dallas.

Like the recent controversy over the paternity and custody of Ms. Smith’s sole surviving child, legal ownership of the diaries is disputed. Her former partner, Howard K. Stern, claims that the journals were stolen and should be returned to her estate. A representative of the auction house said that he believed that the chain of title led to a clean sale of these items and other Smith memorabilia.

Was it worth $59,750? You be the judge. An AP file photo shows a page from a small, spiral bound Guess? brand notebook: “My husbands very sick and weak, Theres nothing I can do I wait each hour to comfort him with medicines and prayers I wish I could take all the”.

Would anyone pay for your memoirs?
