  • Darn "Primerica" rep is so annoying

Me an dmy DH recently had an ex coworker come over to do his primerica spheal.

In a nutshell, this is a person who works for Primerica who can sell you life insurance, a mortgage or refi, and investment products.

He said it would take a half hour. He took over an hour explaining an droming on about simple concepts I could explain better myself if I had to and quicker ie. pay your mortage off sooner if you kick in some extra principal.

Basically, I have a 30 yr mortgage at 5.25 I am fixing to make into a 15 yr on my own here by paying extra. I am with fidelity for ira. I need no debt consolidation, an dI am looking for life insurance on my own now.

So the next step is they do a financial profile on you where he would come over and basically see if we are on track which would entailed revealing all my asset info whi I do not want to do to someone we might work with again.

We politely told him we are all set for now and thank you.

My point is the guy has called for weeks anyway leaving messages, and I would hate to be a salesman!!!

ps I was very polite and did not interupt when he "schooled" me on things I know about.

Does he not respond to being directly told to quit calling?

Call his company directly, and file a complaint against him. If it continues, talk to his manager, or whoever you need to, insisting that he leave you alone. Keep track of when he calls or stops by, and also any instances in which you ask him to stop contacting you. Mail in a complaint by certified mail. You can threaten harassment charges if it continues.... If he/they continue to call/visit you after repeated and documented requests to stop, you should be fully within your rights to file such charges. It's a bit extreme, of course, but the way I would go if it does continue.

Yea, I think he will stop once I tell hime I am not interested directly on the phone instead of leaving him a message. Soemone just asked on another thread about second incomes and this person came to mind.
I hate how salespeople call under the guise "of saying hi an dhow are you doing...by the way when can I come over to book a party to sell my stuff to your freinds so I can make commision?"

I know someone who sells ARbonne products(it is a pyramid sales thing selling body products like lotion and anti aging cream" THe stuff is insamely priced. I mean how do you tihnk they pay for the top resps to drive around in Mercedes and alledgely make 100K a year? LOL

I have gone to the "parties" where they want you to buy the lotion etc but MAINLY want you to start selling b/c the people you sign up get commision. I know people who are literally obsessed with this stuff and talk all day non stop about it.

I mean who cares if you gross 1 grand a month spending Heaven knows how many hours at people's houses all night for a party and the rest of your time calling and bothering people to have parties.

They have training sessions where I have had calls "hi it's me in Arbonne triaing, I know you don't really want to have a party but this is your freind and they are making me call 3 people righ tnow to try and book parties"
good grief. lol I bought over 100 bucks in products at your party and I saw them on e bay 70 percent off after and I dont' want to have a party, but I politely decline. lol

He would probably fall for it if he fell for the Primerica scam.

He probably earns big commission if he sold it to you.

We get that once in a while. Somehow, we would end up in a deal with someone that spends hours talking about their product but in the end, we just didn't want it.

He sounds despersate. Even if he sold you a policy, he wouldn't make much money. Primerica is well known to pay very little commission to their agents.

I have a friend who got into Primerica a year or so back. He refused to believe it was a pyramid scheme! My friends called him on it but the Primerica people brainwashed him to think that if people didn't think Primerica was wonderful, that they were jealous. Thank God he got out of that one! It was all he would talk about for a while.
